Low-flow Showerheads
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), showering is one of the leading ways we use water in the home, accounting for nearly 17 percent of residential indoor water use, or about 30 gallons per household per day. Standard showerheads currently use 2.5 gallons per minute. Upgrading your showerheads to low-flow models can save an average of 8 gallons per shower.
EPA WaterSense® labeled showerheads use 20 percent less than the federal standard and ensure performance through a rigorous testing and certification process. LCRA offers FREE WaterSense® labeled, low-flow showerheads to qualified end-users. To qualify for the free showerhead program, you must receive your water from a utility that participates in the program. View the list of current participants to see if you qualify.
